I’ll Pay for Yours – August 14, 2017

Today’s Scripture…”For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

Thought’s for Today…Maybe this has never happened to you, but it has me on a couple of different occasions.  Matter of fact, I have been both the receiver and the giver on these different occasions.

What am I talking about?… I’m talking about going out for breakfast with some of the guys…ordering some grub and then realizing that I forgot to bring my wallet…but not realizing that I forgot to bring my wallet until I prepared to pay. Here I am with no way to pay for my meal…no cash, no debit card, no credit card, nothing. I had created a bill I couldn’t pay, created a debt that was mine, that I was unable to remove on my own. Realizing the situation, that’s when one of my friends who had the means to pay for his as well as mine, stepped in and said to me…

…”I’ll pay for yours.”

Naturally, I was very grateful.  Without his assistance, I would have been in a jam…and I really hate washing dishes. You know, each and every one of us face a similar, but much more critical, situation like this one. We run up a debt of sin, and find our pockets empty and unable to pay for our transgressions. Yep, we eat of the things of this world, we feast on the fleshly desires, and for a season, it tastes great. But, there comes a time to pay. And we soon realize that we don’t have any way to pay for the debt we’ve created.  We are unable to remove the stain of sin on our own. But, praise God, Jesus is there.  He knows the situation. He has the means to pay for our sins, and He steps in and says to each and every one of us…

…”I’ll pay for yours.”

In fact, He has already paid our debt in full when He shed His blood on Calvary! What a Savior!

Friend, today is a great day to rejoice in the Lord for His matchless, amazing grace! And, it’s also a great day to tell sinners — sinners who are lost and bound for eternity in hell — that Jesus has died on the Cross to take care of the bill that they have run up. Today, when you come into contact with someone who doesn’t know the Savior, share that message with them.  Let them know that there is a bill that they are unable to pay, that their pockets are empty when it comes to a way to cover their sin debt. And, remind them that Jesus looks at their sin, and loves them so much, and says sweetly as only He can say…

…”I’ll pay for yours.”

Have a “Wonderful DAY in Christ,”
